Seffner Week #12

Hola Everyone,

Hope you'all don't miss me too much yet. I have been out for 3 months now it seems weird how time can fly i am already 1/6 of the way done with my mission. Still have a lot to learn and a lot to teach. Well it is the end of another transfer and we got transfer calls, Sister Piepgrass will stay for 1 more transfer is Seffner, oh and I will stay with her until she dies. I can't even image starting my last transfer and so I am sure that this transfer will fly by. She has been great so now that we both know our area both in car and on bike we should have no excuse but to see the work grow.

This week was a trying one, as we got wet on monday tuesday and thursday, I really wish that I had a waterproof backpack since my scriptures have gotten wet. grr... they seem to have survived
I love getting to members houses for lessons when you are wet and they willingly give you towels. I thank them for the service even though it is a small service. We got to teach a less active on monday that we have been trying to teach for 2 transfers and she even less us come back on friday and serve her. She gave us lunch and then we cleaned her back porch, it was fun but messy.

Tuesday, We got stuck in the rain well lightning, we were trying to go to an appointment when the cloud broke and down it came, we stayed pretty dry until the spanish sisters came to rescue us, i was trenched in a matter of 2 mins putting the bikes on the rack. We then drove though a lake that is usually a street the water was about a third of the way up the car door, i have pictures but dont ever remember my cord for my camera.

Wednesday we got to meet the new mission president, yea!!!! All the sisters in the zone wore blue to show our zone unity (though we invited the elders to join in they didn't). An awesome coicidence was that sister Cusick also wore the same color of blue so we got a great group photo, and our blues were even close to the same color, we got dropped off by the sisters went into kmart to use the restroom and we unlocked our bike just as the cloud burst and lightning started, we took an early dinner and then it was sunny and we saw a rainbow, we taught Heidi again and had a great lesson though i think that her 8 year old son taught most of it himself. It was a great lesson we set a baptismal date for her and her son for the middle of august. Hopefully it will all go well. We were biking back towards the house and I got an major flat tire (it went flat in a matter of seconds) it was 20 minutes to 9 pm and we were about 15 mins away on bike and i didnt have my bike pump with me. We called a member and they were a couple blocks away just finishing up with dinner so they were our 3 miracle of the day.

Thursday was the 4th of july and we were blessed with being able to see many fireworks both the natural ones from the sky and also the ones that are man lit ones. We saw tree blowing sideways and were thinking that we were crazy to be out on bike. Oh and there was rain lots and lots of rain.

Friday, I woke up feeling very very sick, we went out to work after studies and we were able to teach fran, and tried to contact a few other investagators, we went back to call and try to set up appointments with potentials and i took a nap to try to stop the dizzy lightheadedness, we ended up staying in and finishing doing extra 12 week training since i didn't seem to be doing any better.

Went back to work saturday, and Sunday starting to feel better now. Love you all and sorry for the play by play.

Week #17 in Seffner

Hola Family and Friends

This week was pretty great we had our first two baptisms with heidi and Legion it was a great service we got alot of the ward involved and it was combined with another baptism that the elders had been teaching so three confirmations in sacrament yesterday and to top off a great meeting we got a new bishopric. Bishop Watson had moved from the ward, so we had the stake presidency there and president clayson actually confirmed heidi and Legion. We had trouble finding a baptism suit for hiedi and president clayson saved the day and found one at the stake center friday. it was a good experence.

Pretty much just been knocking trying to find more people to teach. have you all sent your friends in as refferals on lds.org yet. And have you looked at the work of salvation webpage on lds.org. Are you posting your church activities to your facebook, twitter or other social media. Please do.

You are all amazing hope you have a great week, next week I can tell you who my second companion will be but i wont have met her yet. Yea.....for transfers.....I just love change. ..... Sister piepgrass is great but she thinks so wants to go back to canada or something.

We had zone conference this week and we learned to focus on our circle of influence instead of circle of concern. there are alot of things that we cant control it is not worth stressing over them.

Love you all, Send pictures :)

Week #16 in Seffner

Hello friends and family from another lifetime.

The mission is going by so quickly, I hit my 4 month on saturday, can't believe how fast time has flown. I am still in the same area that I started at and my companion that seemed that she still had forever on her mission, it down to going home in two weeks.

Our week has been good, we had an investagator introduce us to a friend so now we are teaching them both. They are both young woman one is 15 and the other is 16. Working with the youth is great because we got to play volleyball wednesday night. However, it is a challenge since they would rather go to the mall then to learn more about the gospel, we have found that drop in visits work best.

We have a baptism this coming saturday, it is our first. They are both great, it is a single mom and her son. We found her when she come to church and then kept coming and let us come teach her. They had their baptism interview yesterday so we are at a green light fast approaching.  It was great to announce in primary and see the excitment in the childern.

I had my first interview with the mission president, he told me that I need a new companion. How Rude? I just figured out how to understand the one that I have (most of the time) and he is going to let her go home to canada.  He also asked if I could drive which i found funny since i am the only driver with a dying missionary not able to drive her last month. We have two weeks left to work to find find find, any of you have refferals for me here in the westside of the seffner ward?

Love you all,
Have a wonderful week.
Hope to hear from you soon.

Week 15- Seffner Ward

Well, this week was interesting. I was able to work with members a lot more and my challenge for each of you is to contact the missionaries in your ward and offer to go with them to teach. The testimony of people in the ward is irreplaceable. We have taught Heidi everything she needs to know and she is keeping our commitments and a study journal (how many of you keep a study journal as you study daily?)

I finished really reading the Book of Mormon again start to finish and found that it has given me additional strength to testify to people I meet that I know that it is true. May each of us continue to read study and then to ask if it is true often to renew our own testimonies. We got to go on exchanges this week, I stayed in our area but was in charge of planning and finding meaningful activities to do when all of the plans that we had fell through.

Work to get the spirit of missionary work in your life. Study and use preach my gospel and FEED the missionaries.

Lots of Love
Make good choices

Week 14- Seffner

Howdy,

This week has been a good one, we started teaching another investigator and she is amazing. She came to church yesterday, and since she is 15 we have the young women involved with fellowshipping her. She was a referral from a member in the ward. Referrals are the best, so I challenge all of you to "LIGHT" the way. Identify who you know that could benefit from the gospel in their life and do something about it. Love you all, hope you have a wonderful week.
