Hola Everyone,
Hope you'all don't miss me too much yet. I have been out for 3 months now it seems weird how time can fly i am already 1/6 of the way done with my mission. Still have a lot to learn and a lot to teach. Well it is the end of another transfer and we got transfer calls, Sister Piepgrass will stay for 1 more transfer is Seffner, oh and I will stay with her until she dies. I can't even image starting my last transfer and so I am sure that this transfer will fly by. She has been great so now that we both know our area both in car and on bike we should have no excuse but to see the work grow.
This week was a trying one, as we got wet on monday tuesday and thursday, I really wish that I had a waterproof backpack since my scriptures have gotten wet. grr... they seem to have survived
I love getting to members houses for lessons when you are wet and they willingly give you towels. I thank them for the service even though it is a small service. We got to teach a less active on monday that we have been trying to teach for 2 transfers and she even less us come back on friday and serve her. She gave us lunch and then we cleaned her back porch, it was fun but messy.
Tuesday, We got stuck in the rain well lightning, we were trying to go to an appointment when the cloud broke and down it came, we stayed pretty dry until the spanish sisters came to rescue us, i was trenched in a matter of 2 mins putting the bikes on the rack. We then drove though a lake that is usually a street the water was about a third of the way up the car door, i have pictures but dont ever remember my cord for my camera.
Wednesday we got to meet the new mission president, yea!!!! All the sisters in the zone wore blue to show our zone unity (though we invited the elders to join in they didn't). An awesome coicidence was that sister Cusick also wore the same color of blue so we got a great group photo, and our blues were even close to the same color, we got dropped off by the sisters went into kmart to use the restroom and we unlocked our bike just as the cloud burst and lightning started, we took an early dinner and then it was sunny and we saw a rainbow, we taught Heidi again and had a great lesson though i think that her 8 year old son taught most of it himself. It was a great lesson we set a baptismal date for her and her son for the middle of august. Hopefully it will all go well. We were biking back towards the house and I got an major flat tire (it went flat in a matter of seconds) it was 20 minutes to 9 pm and we were about 15 mins away on bike and i didnt have my bike pump with me. We called a member and they were a couple blocks away just finishing up with dinner so they were our 3 miracle of the day.
Thursday was the 4th of july and we were blessed with being able to see many fireworks both the natural ones from the sky and also the ones that are man lit ones. We saw tree blowing sideways and were thinking that we were crazy to be out on bike. Oh and there was rain lots and lots of rain.
Friday, I woke up feeling very very sick, we went out to work after studies and we were able to teach fran, and tried to contact a few other investagators, we went back to call and try to set up appointments with potentials and i took a nap to try to stop the dizzy lightheadedness, we ended up staying in and finishing doing extra 12 week training since i didn't seem to be doing any better.
Went back to work saturday, and Sunday starting to feel better now. Love you all and sorry for the play by play.
Sister Sliger
